Systems architecture
System design, platform reviews and migration planning grounded in how the software will be built and operated. Architecture work can include implementation where that is the best way to validate a decision.
Example engagements
Architecture review
One system; stakeholder discussion, design and deployment review, dependency mapping and a written set of decisions and recommendations.
Extensive code changes, performance testing and broad enterprise assessments are scoped separately.
Design and technical plan
A proposed application or substantial change. Includes component boundaries, data flows, failure handling, deployment approach and an implementation sequence.
Detailed product design, procurement and a full production implementation are separate deliverables.
Migration discovery
Assessment of one service or bounded platform migration. Includes dependencies, migration stages, validation criteria, rollback considerations and a costed next phase.
Cloud usage, vendor charges and executing the migration are not included.
For smaller advisory or implementation work: CAD $175–$225 per hour, or $1,250–$1,600 per day. Any minimum engagement is agreed in advance. Timing assumes timely access and feedback; it is not a guaranteed start date.
What you receive
- Diagrams with defined relationships
- Recorded decisions and tradeoffs
- A prioritised implementation sequence
- Failure, security and operational considerations
How the work starts
We start with requirements, constraints and the existing system. We compare viable options, document the decisions and identify which assumptions need a prototype or measurement.
Useful when a team needs to choose an approach, simplify an existing platform, or plan a change with meaningful operational risk.
Discuss a project
Send a brief description of the work, your current system and any relevant constraints. We can arrange a conversation to define the scope.
